Rev. Rodney Johnson Sr.

Senior Pastor

Rodney L. Johnson Sr. is the son of Hazel Dallon and the late Eddie Johnson Sr. He is a native of Killona, Louisiana where he was exposed to the love of God at an early age. He received the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior at the age of 10 and was called to preach in 1968 at the age of 11. His first sermon preached abroad was at the Greater New St. Peter Baptist church, of Edgard, Louisiana. The sermon was entitled: “Here am I send me”, from Isaiah chapter 6:8. Rodney attended Killona Elementary and later graduated at Hahnville High School. In 1981, Rodney was ordained as a Gospel preacher by the “St. Charles Missionary Baptist Association” under the leadership of his Pastor and mentor, the late Dr. John B. Davis Jr. In 1982, Rodney was called to serve as presider at the Historic Bethlehem Baptist Church during the illness of the late Rev. Sidney H. Davis. During which; he attended Union Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, Louisiana where he received a Bachelor of Theology Degree in 1983.  In 1984, he became Pastor of the Historic Bethlehem Baptist Church subsequent to Pastor Davis’s indefinite illness. In 1998, Rodney received a Doctoral Degree in Pastoral Theology from Andersonville Baptist Theological Seminary in Camilla, Georgia.

The Historic Bethlehem Baptist Church quickly grew and today is a vital part of the Christian community. Pastor Johnson’s teaching and preaching is making an impact in Hahnville; including the surrounding areas. He has authored two books: “The Scars of Christ” and “The Last Days”. Rodney is widely recognized as an orator of the gospel. He has been instrumental in leading many to Christ and has received numerous awards from parish officials for his outstanding contributions to the betterment of society. In 2007, He was called to serve as Pastor at the Bell Baptist Church in Luling, La. following the death of his (good friend) the late Pastor Eugene Turner.

Rodney is married to Michele Johnson and is the father of Jasmin, Rodney Jr, and Keyanna Johnson. He is also the grandfather of Sa’niya and Jordyn Johnson. To date, Pastor Johnson has been preaching for 45 years. His greatest desire is that of ministering to the youth, compelling the lost and impacting the saints through the word of God so that they will ultimately be confirmed to the image of Christ.


John K. White

Assistant Pastor

Rev. John K. White, Sr is a resident of Boutte, LA.  He is the son of Junius Grant White, and the late Emily Williams White. John was taught Christian values and a strong work ethics by his beloved grandfather; the late Johnny Williams Sr.  John accepted Christ at an early age under the pastorate of the late Rev. Albert Green. He accepted his calling to preach under the leadership of Pastor Rodney L. Johnson Sr.

He was ordained to preach the Word of God at the Historic Bethlehem Baptist Church under the guidance of the Second District Missionary Baptist Association.

A few years later; Pastor Johnson appointed Rev White as the Assistant Pastor of the Historic Bethlehem Baptist Church. To date; Rev. White has proven to be a faithful servant of God.

Rev. White acquired his Bachelor of Theology from Christian Bible College of LA in Kenner, LA on June 3, 1997. He currently assists with Sunday school, bible-class and the young men ministry.

God has favored Rev. White in many ways. His mother was a successful business lady for many years. The same ability is exhibited in John, who now has his own business; “White and Sons Construction Company”.

John; who is an avid sports fan, has volunteered his time as a coach and mentor to the children in his community for over 18 years.  He provides spiritual guidance and moral leadership for the area youth while introducing them to Jesus Christ.  He is the husband of Keioka L. White, and the proud father to Tayamka Clark, John Jr, Hezekiah, Kylin, and Kabrin White. Rev. White’s ultimate objective is to glorify God in all of his endeavors.


Rev. Ivy Williams

Prison and New Members Ministries

Reverend Ivy Williams takes great pride in her personal relationship with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  She loves and adore her family which includes her husband, Eugene; her children Tyra and Terrance; her grandchildren, Jeyla, Dale Jr., and Kamylle; her mother Melinda Washington; four brothers and four sisters.  She is a resident of Des Allemands, La.

She is a faithful servant at the Historic Bethlehem Baptist Church under the leadership of her pastor, Reverend Rodney Johnson Sr.  Reverend Williams diligently serves as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher.  Approximately twenty-five years of her life has been devoted to ministry at the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center, the Luling Living Center and Luling Rehabilitation Center.  Proclaiming God’s Word to those on the outside is her greatest joy.  Acts 17:28: For in Him we live, and move and have our being.

On June 2, 2009, Reverend Williams received a Bachelor of Theology Degree at Christian Bible College of Louisiana under the leader-ship of Dr. Cornelius Tilton, President.  On Marc 10, 2012, Reverend Williams was ordained as a gospel preacher.  2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowedge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Reverend Ivy Williams is currently employed as Program Coordinator and Counselor for Alpha Daughters of Zion Organization.
Alpha Daughters of Zion is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit domestic violence organization funded by United Way of St. Charles Parish.
